Following excavations as recent as the 18th century, Pompeii rose to fame in the world of archaeology thanks to how miraculously the city was preserved by the ash. Join Tours & Tours on a day trip from Rome to Pompeii and visit this unique place - with full guided tour included - and see in indescribable detail not only how people lived almost 2000 years ago, but in somewhat gruesome detail, how they also died!
Our scintillating tour of Pompeii begins at the Porta Marina Inferiore entrance and takes you around the Great Theater (the largest of three) and Public Forum area - the hub of any Roman city - before observing impossibly well-preserved frescoes, artwork and mosaics at the House of the Vettii and the Lupanar Brothel.
Of particular note of course, is the House of Lovers, finally reopened to the public in February 2020 after 40 years.
Finally, before the journey back to Rome at dusk, we’ll stop for a sublime photo opportunity with a panoramic view of the city of Naples and its crystal-blue bay - the very heart and soul of la bella Italia!
