If you thought Mar-a-Lago was impressive, you’re about to get your socks blown off. Hadrian’s Villa in Tivoli covers over 250 acres and our tour features the Imperial Palaces, the Pecile, the Maritime Theater, the Grand Thermal Baths, the Canopus and the Vestibule and Blind Arcade.
Our day trip to Tivoli also includes lunch at our specially selected partner trattoria in the old town - on us - where you’ll also learn that the great cucina italiana is off the beaten track!
Then onto the Villa d’Este, built for the Cardinal of the same name in the 16th century and featuring no less than 255 waterfalls, 100 pools and 50 fountains! Our excursion covers the Villa d’Este Palace, the Rometta Fountain, the Avenue Of 100 Fountains and the Oval, Organ, Dragon and Neptune Fountains.
The Fountain of the Organ in particular, is as unbelievable as it is magnificent: an intricate design of engineering and artistic genius intertwined that plays music using only water, the force of gravity and a combination of whirlpools, chambers and pipes!
A day out in yet another world of unimaginable beauty and then it’s back to Rome in time for dinner!
