The Colosseum
Visit the world’s largest amphitheatre, built by the Roman Empire and still standing proud at almost 2000 years old! From its conception, the games that were held in this arena saw gladiators and beasts fight to the death!
Roman Forum & Palatine Hill
The ruins of the Roman Forum are a beautiful and spectacular site. This area was once the political hub of ancient Rome. You can then climb the Palatine Hill which is the most famous of the Seven Hills of Rome.
Campo de' Fiori
This very ‘local’ square in the historical center has bustling markets, and plenty of bars and restaurants. The square is full of life and you can easily spend a few hours there relaxing. The centre of the square stands the statue Giordano Bruno, an Italian philosopher and burnt at the stake in 1600, and historically was a place of public executions.
Piazza Navona
This 1st Century AD square is home to three majestic fountains. The square is surrounded by plush restaurants and you will also find many street artists.
Trevi Fountain
Most say that this fountain is one of the most beautiful in Rome, and what a spectacular site it is! Millions visit every year to throw a coin and make a wish. Folklore dictates that you must throw the coin over your left shoulder using your right hand, facing away from the fountain. Throw one coin and you will return to Rome, two – fall in love with a native, and three – marry a Roman!
The Pantheon
This is the best preserved ancient monument of Rome, and was built in 120 AD by Emperor Hadrian. Even today, the dome is proudly the largest unsupported dome in the world!
Spanish Steps
These magnificent steps were opened in 1725 and are of Rome Baroque style. The steps lead from Piazza di Spagna up to the Trinita dei Monti Church and its unique and unusual design has attracted artists and poets until this very day.
